Care Advice

Our Product

We are passionate about sourcing the finest materials, embracing the challenges of using latest crafting techniques and striving every day for unrivalled quality and perfection of cut which make our products luxe.

To keep them looking as beautiful as the day they were made, we recommend using a specialist dry cleaner for your products. It is important to remove all leather components beforehand.

Please note that unless there is a genuine fault with the fabric, we can't accept responsibility for any issues in the dry cleaning process.

If you're unsure, you can find full care instructions on the label. If you are still not sure you can email our Customer Care team.

Our Jewellery

Many factors can influence the wear and tear of jewellery and we kindly advise to follow the guidelines below in order to keep your jewellery looking its best:

Your gorgeous piece of jewellery should always be kept dry as it is particularly susceptible to damage from the effects of chemicals present in perfume, hairspray, make-up, nail polish remover, body oils, sun-tan lotion and deodorant. Moreover, please note that chlorine, salt water, soapy water and fresh water can damage your jewellery by dulling or eroding the finish.

Always store your jewellery pieces individually, preferably in your Amanda Wakeley soft-lined box or pouch so that they don’t rub together, scratch or tangle.

Please take care to avoid extreme humidity or heat as this may cause tarnishing.

Clean your jewellery carefully with a soft and non-abrasive cloth or chamois.

***Please note that our jewellery range is not covered by any warranty. ***

Our Handbags

We use lots of different materials for our handbags. They are all of the highest quality and from reputable, ethical sources. We leave natural leathers untreated for a pure finish so they can vary in texture and shade. Please take care to avoid rubbing delicate materials against rough or sharp surfaces to prevent scratching.

Prolonged direct sunlight or heat can cause the colour to fade unevenly, so avoid this where possible. If your bag gets wet, please use a paper towel to remove any residual water, pack loosely with paper and leave to dry naturally.

Be aware that dark coloured dyes from leathers can migrate onto light coloured clothing and vice versa - so avoid rubbing leather against fragile or lightly-coloured clothing.

Leather Handbags

Dust and dirt should be removed prior to cleaning with a neutral leather cream. Moisturise your bag using a leather moisturiser or balsam to prevent flaking and wrinkling.<

If your leather bag gets excessively wet it is important not to dry it too quickly or to let it get ‘bone’ dry as this will lead to the leather becoming hard and brittle. Dab some balm or neatsfoot oil onto a cloth, gently rub over the item and then wipe away any excess. Dry in an airy room, but not directly on a heater.

Suede Handbags

Remove dust and dirt before cleaning. A crepe brush should be used to gently and carefully remove any marks in the suede. Suede is a natural dyed product and cannot be entirely colourfast, so some loss of colour may be experienced during wear.

Please do take extra care when wearing a dark or brightly coloured suede bag against a pale or white garment.

Calfskin Handbags

Hair on the leather naturally varies in length and direction. Colour can also vary within the product because the dye reacts differently on different parts of the skin. Hair loss will occur if continual rubbing is experienced on the surface of the product. Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Our Belts

From luxurious leather styles to our classic judo, complete you Wakeley wardrobe with our selection of waist-cinching belts designed to pull your look together in more than one way.
