INTERNATIONAL WHOLESALE ASSISTANT

Responsibilities

Business & Financial Management

  • Support on budget monitoring, invoices, etc.

  • Strong communications skills inc. written and telephone skills

  • Is solutions focused and manage problems in a positive way

  • Manages very tight deadlines and can prioritise tasks in order of importance to ensure delivery

  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and follow-through on all tasks and admin duties

  • Creates and composes correspondence, with perfect formatting and grammar

  • Maintains filing system and keeps all folders tidy and updated

Team Management (inc. Dept., across Amanda Wakeley and externally)

  • Pro-actively supports team

  • Immediately addresses and resolves issues/challenges

  • Works with teams to positively manage requests

Personal Management

  • Takes direction to ensure thorough preparation to meet delivery requirements

  • Takes ownership, is accountable to deliver timely solutions, meet deadlines and complete actions

  • Delivering individual tasks whilst maintaining focus on overall objectives

  • Demonstrates best practice in managing communications and quality standards

Expertise Skills

  • All Amanda Wakeley portfolio events including UK and international buyers, sales agents and buying offices

  • Management of the UK and international buyer’s database, including data input, amendments, accuracy, on-going review, etc.

  • Responsible for daily updates on significant changes within the industry including competitors and promotions and updating our records and team accordingly

  • Vetting buyers, ensuring confirmation of all supporting documents ( Sending weekly report to Client)

  • Ensuring registration, issuing passes, VIP badges, welcome packs, during London fashion week

  • Liaising with PR to produce staff briefing packs 

  • Invite buyers to all MARKET DATES promoting events, booking appointments, ‘walk through’ buyers in the showroom, follow up on shipping

  • Assisting International Manager compile reports for MD and Amanda

  • Follow-up with buyers prior to, during and after events

  • Research new shops and buyers through media and attendance record of whom buys from London brand

  • Find correct contact details of those who can be no longer reached via emails and phone calls 

  • Chase target buyers to who attend fashion week events hosted in London and overseas

  • Update and maintain internal buyer relations weekly department plan

Professional Experience & Skills

  • Graduate with 2 languages preferable

  • Knowledge of British and international designers

  • Knowledge of global economic marketplace and its impact on retailers

  • Knowledge of UK and international retail market, Dept. stores and boutiques

  • Experience in sales, ideally wholesale with high level of negotiation skills

  • Experience of writing reports to a high standard

  • Updating databases and advanced Microsoft Applications skills

ALTERATION HAND / MACHINIST

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Alteration Hand / Machinist to join a Luxury women’s wear brand on a freelance basis. The role is based in Central London and will be 3 days per week; the candidate will need to be flexible with their hours. 

The successful candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience of working in a luxury environment carrying out all types of alterations on Tailoring and Evening wear to a professional standard. The role will involve fitting garments on customers and following through the alterations.

Responsibilities

  • Able to use industrial lock stitch and overlocker.
  • Understanding different fabric behavior and properties and have the ability to change machine settings accordingly.
  • Able to hold fittings and complete the alterations to a high standard.  
  • The candidate must have close attention to detail and provide a high stand of finish on all alterations.
  • Up keep of machinery cleaning and oiling machines.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and work efficiently.
  • Must have pressing experience.
